PopCap Games has announced a three month period of Peggle that coincides with the release of Peggle on multiple platforms in the near future. The fun begins with Peggle Dual-Shot that is available for $29.99 today on the Nintendo DS, and continues with Peggle on iPhone and Xbox Live Arcade later this month. April will see the release of Peggle Nights for PC as well as Peggle as a part of the PopCap Games Collection Volume 2 on the Xbox 360. Finally in May Peggle will be released for smartphones running Google’s Android service.
“PopCap co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Jason Kapalka explains: “Peggle is a pretty special little game, and it deserves all the attention to detail and high touch polish we’ve given it. We’ve gone beyond just porting Peggle and have really opened up new territory for the game with the iPhone’s input and control mechanisms and by partnering with Q Entertainment on the development of Peggle Dual Shot for Nintendo DS. Add to that the cool multiplayer modes in the Xbox 360 and XBLA versions, and these are really adaptations of the game designed to tap the unique aspects of each respective device and service. It’s been really cool to see how the game has evolved and expanded.”’
Peggle has been announced for the Playstation Network, but with no mention of it in this press release we are left wondering when if it will arrive along side the XBLA version or at a later date.
