EA and DICE have released a bit of new media for Battlefield 1943 coming to XBLA, PSN, and PC. Check out the video and two screens below.
This summer you will have the chance to visit Wake Island once again.
EA and Dice have announced today that Battlefield 1943 will be available this June on XBLA and PSN at a price of 1200 Microsoft Points or $15; the game will also hit PC in September for $15 as well. Battlefield 1943 will offer endless fun in 24 player multiplayer battles on some of the favorite maps inspired by Battlefield 1942. The maps have been re-created and updated using the new Frostbite engine and destructibility technology.
“Using the same Frostbite engine that we developed for Battlefield: Bad Company, we are able to take players back to WWII and return to the roots of the Battlefield franchise, but with a new twist – destruction,” said Gordon Van Dyke, Producer on Battlefield 1943. “We want to offer gamers the most accessible online shooter experience and the best value found in any premium download title with Battlefield 1943.”
Now may be a good time to renew that PSN credit card or head out and stock up on Microsoft Points.

Gamers waiting for the next Battlefield are in luck. A lot of rumors floating around yesterday about the next Battlefield games. EA has shed light on not one, but two new games in the Battlefield franchise. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will rejoin the ‘B’ Company as they demolish everything in their path. BF:BC2 will use the same Frostbite Engine from the first game. This time around, PC players will also be able to enjoy the explosive action when the game hits this winter for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
“In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the ‘B’ company fight their way through snowy mountaintops, dense jungles and dusty villages. With a heavy arsenal of deadly weapons and a slew of vehicles to aid them, the crew set off on their mission and they are ready to blow up, shoot down, blast through, wipe out and utterly destroy anything that gets in their way. Total destruction is the name of the game, delivered as only the DICE next generation Frostbite™ engine can. Either online or offline, enemies will soon learn there is nowhere to hide.”
Battlefield 1943 will go bad to WWII and use the same Frostbite Engine. Coming via Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network, 1943 will offer countless hours of multiplayer fun over many maps with up to 24 players.
“The game offers endless hours of 24 player multiplayer action over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. Delivering the award-winning through-the-gun and vehicle warfare online experience DICE is best recognized for, Battlefield 1943 will have players battling in ruthless aerial dog fights and intense trench combat.”
