Killzone 2 Steel & Titanium DLC Maps Coming April 30th

Playstation Blog has the details on the launch date for the first round of Killzone 2 DLC. The pack labeled “Steel and Titanium” will hit the PSN on April 30th. The pack contains two new multiplayer maps for Killzone 2. The first map, Wasteland Bullet, takes place on a transport train such as the one you played on in the single player campaign and will contain environmental obstacles that will result in instant death. The second map is called Vekta Cruiser and is an indoor map on a ship.

Price is still yet to be determined, but the maps look like a great addition to the Killzone 2 library. Might want to get those credit cards ready for the 30th; now if they would just increase the level cap…

Fable 2 “See the Future” DLC Announced, Coming in May

The second DLC pack for Fable 2 has been announced by Lionhead Games. “See the Future” will give players the chance to “heed the call for a hero to restore color and balance to the world, or let Albion fall to the wayside.” If you are victorious you will receive a vision of the hero bloodline in the future, and more.

“Murgo: Having first met him during the childhood sequence of “Fable II,” Murgo returns to Bowerstone Market to bring an amazing array of new wares, including potions that can transform canine companions into new breeds.

The Ghosts of the Snowglobe Quest: Holding a disturbing secret, the small model village inside it was once a real town in Albion. The people who once inhabited it are now ghosts condemned to endless torment until the shadowy threat that cursed them is defeated.

The Cursed Knight Quest: Forever banished to a land beyond the dead, the Cursed Knight awaits a hero who has the strength and will to dress up in convincing costumes, even imitating a hobbe or balverine, to save him from his fate.

The Colosseum: The Colosseum puts even the Crucible to shame. Only the greatest heroes have triumphed here. Players’ abilities will be put to the test to prove themselves in combat once and for all, to win the ultimate in prizes.”

The DLC will also bring some new free content including Welley’s Soldier Helmet, new hairstyles, new makeup, new expressions (dog included), and a collectible Murgo statue. The DLC will be out in May and will cost 560 MSP.

Resident Evil 5 Versus Mode Comes Tomorrow for $4.99/400MSP

Capcom finally has announced a release date for the controversial versus mode for Resident Evil 5. A lot of fans were upset that the mode was not included in the retail game, Capcom responded that it was in development after the game shipped. Whatever opinion you have, the pack will be out tomorrow for 400 Microsoft Points or $4.99 on Xbox Live and Playstation network respectively.

“Versus allows up to four players to match wits in online battles across two very different game types. Slayer’s Rule is a point-based game that challenges players to kill Majinis. In Survivor’s Rule, players hunt the most dangerous game, each other! Players can begin the hunt as Chris, Sheva or other secret characters, and choose from either one-on-one or two-versus-two team matches for either of the two gameplay styles.”

This will give those of you who have completed the full game and unlocked everything something more to do, but I can’t help seeing it turn into a tank battle.

Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts DLC Coming April 7th for 400 MSP

Some DLC news for your Tuesday, those with Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts will be happy to hear that the Lord of Games’ Lost Challenges Add-on Pack will arrive on April 7th for 400 Microsoft Points.

“Worried that Banjo and Kazooie may be falling back into their lazy ways, L.O.G has created a fresh series of tests and seven additional multiplayer modes for players to continue building their own distinctive vehicle creations. Although Spiral Mountain has been rightfully won, L.O.G. has an enticing reward for completing his new challenges: another version of Klungo’s Arcade game.”

The DLC will include 12 new challenges with the 7 new multiplayer modes, and add an extra 250 Gamerpoints for you to try and unlock. Check out the trailer below for more details on what is included with the DLC.

Resistance 2 Patch/DLC Details, Date Revealed

In a video with GameSpot (which you can watch after the jump) lead multiplayer designer Jake Biegel with Insomniac Games detailed a new batch of DLC and a patch for Resistance 2 on the Playstation 3. Both will hit PSN (and in-game) this Thursday (March 26). The patch, version 1.50, will add a harder mode for co-op that will net you more experience as well as a new multiplayer mode entitled Meltdown. The DLC will cost, and will bring the Aftermath Map Pack to the game. The map pack will cost $5.99, and there will also be some new skins that will cost $0.99. Fallout 3 “The Pitt” DLC (Again) Ready for Download

UPDATE: Major Nelson is reporting the Bethesda has fixed the issues with the DLC and folks can now download (or re-download) The Pitt for Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 fans were a bit dismayed this morning when rushing to their Xbox 360s to download the newest DLC for Fallout 3, “The Pitt.” Apparently somewhere in the uploading process the file for the DLC got corrupted and players had a whole host of issues including floating exclamation points (apparently the Fallout world saw Solid Snake), red boxes in the sky, and overall texture and building issues. You can rest assured that the old file has been taken down and the process is in action to fix the issue and get it back up. Says Bethesda Blog:

“We are continuing to look into the issues people are experiencing with The Pitt for Xbox 360. As of now it looks like the file for the English version on Xbox Live was somehow corrupted. We are currently working with Microsoft to remove the existing file off of Live to prevent any further downloads. Our plan is to replace it with a new file as soon as possible. We hope to have another update for you shortly.”

Those of you that already bought and downloaded The Pitt will just need to re-download the DLC (for free) when the new version is live. Stay tuned to this story for updates, we will let you know when all is well!

Gears 2, Halo 3, Left 4 Dead DLC Get Dates

Clear your hard drive space, there is a lot of DLC coming via the 360 in the next month. Microsoft has detailed the DLC line-up for the coming month and it features many of this and last year’s top games. If only the Xbox hard drives were priced well enough to buy a bigger one… One can wish right?

The fun starts tomorrow with the Fallout 3 DLC entitled “The Pitt.” The Pitt takes players to former Pittsburgh and a slave labor camp, the pack will be 800 MSP. Following the Fallout 3 DLC is the Gears of War 2 Snowblind Map pack for 800 points. The Snowblind pack contains “Grindyard, Under Hill, Courtyard, and a frozen version of the “Gears of War” favorite, Fuel depot.” Next up is the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack. Currently only playable to those with the Halo Wars special edition (or those who have won codes), the Mythic pack contains Sandbox, Orbital, and Assembly and will be out April 9th for 800 points. Finally, on April 21st, the Left 4 Dead Survival Pack will debut and is as of now, un-priced.

That is a ton of content coming to your hard drive exclusively on the 360 (and PC) in the coming month, be prepared with many points and some free time.

EA Brings “Don Control” DLC Multiplayer to Godfather II

The Godfather II has not even launched yet and EA has announced DLC to bring “Don Control” to online multiplayer. The DLC pack will hit on launch day (April 7 in N.A., April 10 in Europe) and be free of charge. Don Control takes the “Think Like a Don” element from the single player experience and applies it to the online environment.

“Don Control introduces an additional layer of gameplay on top of the four multiplayer modes and six maps already available in the game and invites players to compete to see who is the ultimate Don of Dons. Players can now challenge one another in 16-player battles for their in-game currency from the single-player game. As a Don online, players can recruit others to join their family by giving them a cut of the profits. But if a player loses as Don, the in-game currency they wagered will be removed in their single-player campaign and their empire can come crumbling down.”

So be sure to download this free DLC when you pick up your copy next month!

Tomb raider Underworld “Lara’s Shadow” DLC Trailer

The next set of DLC for Tomb Raider Underworld is fast approaching and we now have a trailer to show it off. The DLC has players “stepping into the shoes of the Doppleganger, a clone of Lara Croft, you’ll get to witness first hand her superior shadow powers, increased agility and use her ability to slow time to unleash devastating melee combos.”
