The official webpage for Metal Gear Solid Touch for the iPhone and iPod touch is now live and it details the game a bit more than the initial announcement did. From the site’s offerings, it appears MGST will follow the story of Metal Gear Solid 4. The site says; “experience Metal Gear Solid 4’s story as you fight through each action packed stage. Fierce battles and familiar faces await you around every corner.”

The site also briefly details the game mechanics and it shows Snake behind a pile of sandbags with enemies popping out at various distances. To shoot you tap once, to zoom you pinch your fingers than tap again to shoot.

The game is also getting a pre-release edition that features only the first half. Those who buy this version will be able to upgrade to the full edition free when it comes out. The game looks interesting that is for sure, but will it be just another rail shooter, or feature some depth to story and gameplay? Only time will tell.
