Check out the shots below for a look into the long-awaited Alan Wake depicting frightening forests, wheat fields, and mining camps!

Rockstar Debuts Max Payne 3 Screens

Max Payne has taken on a few years (and a few pounds) in the newest screens from Rockstar. The slow-motion action hero of the self-titled first two games is back for another go-around and this time has left the dark alleyways of New York City behind for a more desolate, sunny location. As you can see from the screens below, Max has found his way out of the United States altogether and is sporting a look similar to that of Jeff Bridges in Iron Man. The game seems to carry that Rockstar look to it and you can bet there will be plenty of slow motion diving sequences. Max Payne 1 is still one of my favorite games (red line room aside) so I am anxious to see what Rockstar does with the third installment.

Madden '10 Cover Athletes

For the first time in series history two athletes will grace the cover of Madden 2010. Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu were chosen this morning by EA Sports to be dual cover athletes for this year’s edition of Madden. Not only did the two meet in the Super Bowl last season, but they both fit the new tagline for Madden this year, “Fight for Every Yard.”

Larry Fitzgerald will be the second athlete to have been featured on both the Madden NFL cover (Madden NFL 10) and NCAA Football cover (NCAA Football 2005) the first being Shaun Alexander. The three-time Pro Bowl selection and 2009 Pro Bowl MVP reached career highs in reception yards (1,431) and touchdowns (12) in 2008, and set NFL post season records for yards (546), receptions (30), and TDs (7), as he led the Arizona Cardinals to Super Bowl XLIII. Fitzgerald’s athleticism and unyielding focus often result in acrobatic catches that change the course of a game.

Troy Polamalu
is a 2-time Super Bowl Champion and one of the most recognizable players in the NFL today. Anchoring the Steelers’ vaunted defense, Polamalu frustrates opposing offenses with his All-Pro speed, agility and high-impact tackles. Known for his quick reactions on the field and unrivaled preparation off the field, Polamalu is one of the few defensive players in the NFL who can rush the quarterback, shutdown a receiver in man-to-man, or drop back into zone coverage; making it necessary for the offense to account for him on every single play. Sharing the NFL record for most sacks (3) in a single game by a safety, Polamalu also recorded seven interceptions and 73 total tackles during the Steelers Super Bowl XLIII championship season.”

Madden ‘10 is set to release on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PSP later this year. Check out the PS3 and 360 box art below, as well as two shots of Fitzgerald and Polamalu in action.

Texas Tech’s victory over Texas in Lubbock is considered one of the defining moments of 2008. ”

“Mars” Action-RPG Announced for 360/PS3/PC

“Mars” is a new game made by Spiders. A bit confused? Spiders is the name of a new studio formed by the folks behind Silverfall and Earth Awakening, and they have announced their new project which is an action-RPG by the name of “Mars,” better now? The game has a similar look to Fallout 3, specifically The Pitt DLC, and seems to play a bit like a Diablo game.

“In Mars you play the role of Seth, an elite soldier with a dark past, or Pandora, an ambitious technomancer, experiencing two different gameplays thanks to the fact that each character played independently from the other has different backgrounds, skills and features.

In the destroyed world of Mars, two destinies mingle together. Two beings searching for their identity travel across a broken planet, constantly facing bloody political conflicts which tear the old colonies apart. Often divided, sometimes fighting the same enemies, both are the source of the advent of a new era…”

Check out a video of the game in action below, and head over to the official site for more information. Mars is set to debut towards the end of 2010.
